So glad to hear this short bit. Kind of obsessed with rock novels lately, since reading “Daisy Jones and the Six” and “Mary Jane.” (“Goon Squad” was very meh. I think the praise for it may have been more about the form then the actual story.)
My favorite, really, is Jane Green’s Sister Stardust, which mixes fact and fiction about Talitha Getty in Morocco. Jane Green was a big writer of “chick lit” back in the days of Bridget Jones, etc. Although this one really didn’t have the feel, it might not be to your taste, but you should take a look.
